To ensure that my coursework matches the general time limit of teaser trailers, following the usual conventions; I have produced a sheet estimating how long each shot/scene will be. [See link below]

My predicted overall time is 1min 48secs. Scenes may be cut, lengthened or

changed etc to try and keep the overall time of my product to a minimum.

From last years coursework and through observation of other pupils work, I have realised that time management is key to a much more efficient process of filming.

Along with time sheets I have produced detailed and easy to follow shooting scripts to help me with this.

An idea I have had would be to produce a general running order for each filming day (shooting script) which then references to my story board using scenes, which I will have handy for a more explanatory description of the scene.

I plan to film different scenes on different days depending upon their location. I have incorporated this into my shooting scripts and created separate pages for each day.

Because of this the scenes will not be filmed in running order. Instead I will go for efficiency and worry about putting together the footage later, as I’m sure many films do also.

The scenes may appear to be listed in any random order. But I have organised these into the best and quickest way for me. Due to the time of year, daylight hours are reduced so filming in the appropriate conditions is going to extremely limited. Efficiency will be important to ensure maximum daylight usage.

As my product is extremely low budget, I will have to make do with the local area for the setting of my product. As of this a little bit of location scouting was in order, I found various locations that seem to be just perfect for each scene.

As the piece follows real life situations and following my preference of a more realistic film, setting will include students homes.

In a natural setting and combines with character planning, I feel that this would result in a much more effective product. Giving the audience something to connect with the film.

Last year, I followed usual conventions of film and planned my characters to be “sluts” which involved certain clothing etc. After finding this to be quite in-effective, this year I plan to go against it.

I would like my characters to yes, be female, but instead to be just as regular girls. Not ‘popular’ not ‘un-popular’ but real people living a realistic life.

Because of this, I have not planned any certain costume for my three victims or initial girl. Instead I would like them to just wear what they would usually wear, do their hair/make up how they usually would etc. Including a range of colours and style. All combining to bring realism into the product. Bringing this into my product will enable me to relate and connect with my target audience much more, resulting in the trailer having a much greater effect.

However, the most important role in my film is that of the little girl, Lucy. She is my main character, a young girl said to be immortal, mysterious, ghostly and indeed creepy.

For this clothing must be kept plain and child-like (matching the age of the character.) Luckily, Sophie, the girl playing our killer, had such a dress. A plain grey dress, sleeveless with buttons on the front. Perfect.

With this is also straight, sleek hair. I considered other props such as ribbons in the hair but figured this would not match other conventions or the story line in my piece.
