The change we plan to bring about in the community:
Baal Vivaha
• Bharti Foundation
– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.
– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.
• Satya Bharti School Program
– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.
– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.
– The program goal is to establish 500 Primary and 50 Senior Schools reaching out to over 200,000 students
– The promise of this large scale program, through its operation, is to create a replicable, scalable and holistic model of quality education in rural India
– Present Operational Status:
• Number of Schools Operational: 250
• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu
• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 36765
Introduction
Geographical Location:
– Pipli is Located at a distance of 4 Kms. from National High Way No.8 (Delhi – Jaipur High Way).
– The Govt. Sr. Secondary School is in the village, – The nearest Government Primary Health Centre is in Bichpuri which is aprrox.1-2
kams. from Pipli. – The Nearest Post office is situated in Pipli it self. – The nearest Police station is Neemrana ,which is approx. 8 km form the village.– The nearest market is Neemrana which is approx. 8 km form the village.– Drinking water facility provided by government and constructed water supply tank,
apart from this Hand pumps and bore wells are other source of water.– The main occupation of villagers are agriculture, working in Private Factories & Govt
jobs. – The village is well connected by roads and also connected with NH-8.– The village is very near to Japanese Zone and Indian Export Promotion Zone of RICCO.

Cultural Background
– Majority of the population belongs to Hindu community – Dominant cast in village is Rajuput. – The villagers followed the all Hindu rituals and festivals.– The dressing style of community is long white Kurta & Dhoti / Pant & Shirt, for men and
women dressing style is Ghagra & Odhni.– It’s a mix culture of Rajasthan & Hariyana as Hariyana border is very close to this location. – They are the followers of all Hindu God & Goddess. – It is Men dominant community and they are the main decision makers.– Prevalence of Dowry is very high in the village.
There are many problems in the village but we felt that Baal Vivaha is one of the major problem in the village. The villagers think that BaalVivaha is a social custom.

We ‘Imagined’:
Baal Vivaha is a sin to the society. It should not be followed. It has been banned but still it is prevailing in the rural areas which is effecting the couples life. According to the students, if they can motivate the villagers and aware them on the impacts of Baal Vivaha.
• Organised a meeting with community people to make them understand about the initiative of Satya Bharti School.
• Organised a rally on Baal Vivaha and educate community people .
• Conducted Street play in different location of community.
• Prepare the Slogans & posters on Child Marriage and door to door campaign.
• Display the Posters on various Public Places.
We ‘Did’:
• The community people recognized the effort of Satya Bharti School.
• People understand the importance of right age of marriage.
• The Community people appreciated the initiative of Satya Bahrti School and come forward for eliminating such sin from the society.
Impact on Community:
• Understand the felt need of community and work on it.• Children feel proud to be a part of this campaign and become
change agents.• The satya Bahrti Staff members were with positive attitude to
take such initiatives especially in Gurjar Community. • The Motivation level of Girl Child was very high and put their
best effort to stop such practices.
Impact on Us:
Experience of Community Members & Teachers:
• The teachers feel that they can make a difference by initiating such kind of campaign in village and protect the Childhood of many children.
• The community people felt that they have to change
themselves as per present society norms and Culture.
