This means up to now, food self-sufficiency has been unrealistic and these countries areforced to import the vast majority of their crops.

Our hydroponics projects are changing all this, and within a few short years, we are planningto become the region’s largest distributor oforganic locally produced food, which will seeus approach our goals of seeing food self-sufficiency in the wider MENA region.

Our existing projects include operations withour partners Gardinia Hydroponic Farming(GHF), such as the one located in Barka at afarm site at Al Oqayr. This farm has been inoperation since 2011, and produces highquality produce thanks to the utilization of thevery latest hydroponic and water savingtechniques, along with European technologyand management systems. A further networkof 300 acres of hydroponic greenhouses is alsoplanned in the MENA region, which couldenable countries in this area to become self-sufficient food providers. This will enablethese countries to save money, and enabletheir authorities to concentrate on wider socialissues such as health care and education.

130 hectares of land for development

We currently have 130 hectares of land ready for development. This land is not suitable forcurrent agriculture due to either the climate or quality of the soil. However, the beauty of ourhydroponic systems is that almost any land can be turned into the viable crop growing areas. Our controlled hydroponic environments means that crops are not vulnerable to weathersystems and other climatic problems that can damage and destroy food plants grown usingtraditional methods.

The land we have ready for development is leased under highly secure agreements, lasting 100years. This ensures a permanency to our developments and provides a lasting investment thatwill yield both investment returns and high levels of food crops. We lease from a wide varietyof people and organizations, from local authorities and municipal governments to privatelandowners, and these leases permit us to construct, operate and distribute in these areas. Inaddition, the leased land has access to enough water to ensure the smooth operation of ourhydroponic facilities, as well as having road access to enable easy distribution.

Infrastructure budget

While growing crops in a hydroponic environment is less labor intensive and cheaper thanconventional farming methods, the infrastructure does require an initial investment to get upand running.

Fortunately, thanks to our wide portfolio of investors we have a huge infrastructure budget, meaning we always have the necessary funding to begin and finish a project, ensuring ourinvestors, farmers, distributors and corporate buyers aren’t exposed to any risk due to lack offunds.

While there is an initial infrastructure cost, the high yields of hydroponic farming means thatreturns on investment are made quickly; compared to the same sized area of land, ahydroponic farm can produce 1000% more produce than traditional agriculture. Once a farm isup and running, our controlled environments are completely automated, so running and laborcosts are low. This ensures that all hydroponic farms always make returns. In addition, ourfarming facilities are not vulnerable to climate, disease and pests, which can often ruinconventional crops and diminish returns.

Global distribution network

Our global distribution network means investors do not even have to find their own channels inwhich to sell their produce. As soon as yields are ready, our distribution channels ensure you getthe best price for your crops locally. In addition, this ensures that the produce that comes fromyour plot goes into helping GCC and MENA countries to achieve food security.

You retain full control over the land and its titles. If you wish to operate and manage your ownfarm and distribute your own produce, we can assist and support you thanks to our vastexperience, or you can choose to let us manage, harvest and distribute your produce for you. This makes any investment in hydroponic agriculture simple and easy.
