Police Officers• Police officers protect us and keep us safe• Sometimes police officers have to arrest criminals• Police officers are important because they keep us

safe and they have special tools to do it• A police officer might use handcuffs, a handgun, a

two-way radio, special cameras, police cars and police dogs

• Police officers sometimes wear uniforms and sometimes they wear plain clothes

stethoscope, needles, stitches, scissors and special hospital beds

• They are special because they take care of us by making us healthy

Firefighters• What do they do?

– They save people– They put out fires– They crawl on the floor to stay from the smoke

• What do they wear?– They wear heavy coats, a fire helmet, an air tanks, heavy pants connected to boots

• What tools do they use?– Hoses, ladders, axes, poles

• Why are they important?– Because they help other people– Because they save lives– Because they put out fires
