3 .Developmental anomalies. 4 .Benign tumors.

5 .Malignant tumors .

Differential diagnosis of buccal and palatal mucosal swellings .

1 .Infection . Acute abscess. Acute mucositis.

Check bite. Mucocutanous abscess.

Parotitis ,mumps.

2 .cystic lesion . Nasopalatine cyst .

Periapical cyst. Keratocyst .

Median palatine cyst . Globulomaxillary cyst.

Dermoid cyst . Epidermoid cyst .

Sebaceous cyst.

3 .Tumor like lesion . Fibro epithelial polyp.

Fibroma . Gingival epulis .

Pyogenic granuloma.

4 .Developmental anomalies .

Muscular hypertrophy .

Haemangioma . Lymphangioma.

5 .Benign tumors .

Pleomorphic adenoma of minor salivary glands

6 .Malignant tumors.
