Essay Analyzing

The new Essay is optional and asks you to analyze how an author uses evidence, reasoning, and other stylistic evidence to craft a persuasive argument.

CONTENT CHANGES

Words in context.Command of evidenceanalyze, synthesize, and interpret data from a wide range of sources. EG - Informational graphics, such as tables, charts, and graphsMulti-paragraph passages from literature and literary nonfiction, the humanities, science, history and social studies, and on topics about work and career.

SAT READING TEST: SYNTHESIS

Synthesis: questions that ask you to draw conclusions and make connections between 2 related passages or between passages and informational graphics.

Analyzing multiple textsQuestions will ask you to synthesize information from paired texts.

Analyzing quantitative informationQuestions will ask you to analyze information from graphs, charts, tables, and other graphics in relation to the text.check out some full length practice tests!
