- Believed to be dictated by God to the Prophet through the archangel Gabriel.

- Was first written down in Arabic

Holy Book of Islam(Hadith)Hadith- The word “hadith” means “report”,

“account”, or “narrative”.

- Considered the second main source of Islamic guidance. – laws, practices, history

- Contains the life and habits of the Prophet which becomes the tradition of the Muslims.

- Represents the details of what Qur'an didn't mention, and a completion for what the Qur'an didn't talk about.

- The Quran calls for women to "draw their head-coverings over their chests" (24:30-31), and the Prophet Muhammad instructed believing women to cover their bodies except for their face and hands.

- Both men and women are not allowed to wear skin-tight, body-hugging clothes.

- Believers of Islam are not allowed to wear see-through clothes.

- The overall appearance of a person should be dignified and modest.

- Shiny and flashy clothing should be avoided.

- Muslim women should not dress like men.

- Muslim men are not allowed to dress like women and are prohibited from wearing silk or gold.

Belief Systems (Ibadah)• The "ibadah" in Islam means: The ultimate obedience, the ultimate submission

and the ultimate humility to Allah (S.W.T.) along with the ultimate love for Him.

• From this definition of "ibadah", we realize that the "ibadah" in Islam must meet two conditions.

• First: Following what Allah (S.W.T.) has legislated and what His messenger has called for, in commands, in prohibitions, in halal and in haram. This is what represents the obedience and submission to Allah (S.W.T.).

• Second: Following what Allah (S.W.T.) has legislated must be coming from a heart full of love to Allah, The Most High.

Belief Systems (Aqidah) Cont.• The word 'aqidah' is of the (morphological) form of which

has the meaning of (that to which something is done), that which is tied, knotted to, firmly fixed onto, held onto.

• It is derived from the root , which means to tie, fasten, join, bind.

ground.• To lead man to life of obedience and submission to

the will of Allah.

Human Development – Story of Creation

• Allah created everything in 6 days.• "Everything" refers to the Heavens and the Earth, the Sun, the

moon and the stars.• Allah is then firmly established on the throne of authority.• Everything is governed by laws under Allah's command.• On the 7th day, namely Saturday or Sabbath, Allah ended his work

and rested.• Allah ceased creating and set apart a special day, a day which all

creation could come together each and every 7th day of the week to honor and cherish the Creator.

• Allah then blessed and sanctified the 7th day.

Festivals(Hari Raya Puasa)• Original name, Eid al-Fitri(festival of breaking of the fast)

• multiple name such as Fastbreaking Eid,Sweet Festival, Ramadan Feast etc.

• Dawn-to-Sunset fasting during entire month of Ramadan(Malaysian way of celebrating HRP)

• Return to hometown(balik kampung) with family and ask forgiveness from elders

• During feast, different kinds of dishes like ketupat,rendang,lemang etc.
