A: Upon arrival for your shift, please sign in at the Volunteer Centre located on Level 3, the Atrium of the World Trade and Convention Centre (WTCC). It is critical that we know you have arrived. This includes start/finish line volunteers as well. If you are a race course sector volunteer please report to your Sector Leader on the course where you will be given your volunteer t-shirt and a safety vest, (if needed). Q: Where can I pick up my Volunteer T-shirt? A: When you sign in at the Volunteer Centre you will be given your t-shirt. Course sector volunteers will pick up their t-shirt at their sector. Q: When is the Volunteer Centre open? A: Thursday, May 14 th - 12:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, May 15 th - 7:00am to 6:30pm Saturday, May 16 th – 7:00am to 6:30pm Sunday, May 17 th – 5:00am to 3:00pm Q: If for some reason I need to change or cancel the shift I signed up for, who do I contact? A: Please contact your Volunteer Coordinator as outlined in your confirmation email. Q: How do I contact my Volunteer Coordinator if I cannot locate my confirmation email? Q: I forget what job(s) and shift(s) I am volunteering for. How can I find that out? A: Visit the Blue Nose Marathon volunteer website and click on “Individual Volunteers”. Our registration software allows you to email your assignments back to yourself by selecting the “Forgot your assignments?” button.

Q: I’ve registered for a specific job. Am I guaranteed to be working that position? A: Although we do try our very best to ensure you work the job you have signed up for, there are times when we need to reallocate volunteers based on need at the time. We appreciate your cooperation and willingness to move to another role.

Q: What's the best way to travel on race weekend? A: During race weekend parking downtown will be very limited. As an event dedicated to sustainability we have partnered with Halifax Transit and all volunteers are entitled to free bus and ferry service during race weekend. All you have to do is show your volunteer pass and you’re in! Q: Where can I pick-up my volunteer pass? A: Prior to race weekend passes will be available in Halifax at the Scotiabank Blue Nose Event Office at 3600 Kempt Road, Suite 205 Monday to Friday 9:00AM to 5PM. Race weekend passes will be available in Dartmouth at the Clean Foundation Office at 126 Portland St. and their hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM.

Transit Passes can also be picked up at the Volunteer Centre upon check in on race weekend. Please note passes are not transferrable and are valid from Friday, May 15th to Sunday, May 17th 2015. Q: I plan on biking to the event. Is there safe storage for my bike? A: Courtesy of the Clean Foundation, we are offering free bike valet on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Located at Grand Parade just across from the Scotiabank Centre and WTCC.

Q: Will there be a place to store my belongings? A: Yes, for volunteers working within the WTCC and the Scotiabank Centre, there will be a secure area at check in. Please bring only one bag for storage as space is limited. Q: What are the benefits of volunteering with the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon?

- Volunteer commemorative t-shirt - Invitation to the After Race Party on Sunday, May 17th - A sneak peek premiere viewing of the 2015 official Blue Nose video - Free transportation for volunteers on Halifax Transit on Race Weekend,

Friday May 15th to Sunday May 17th, 2015 - Certificate of Achievement (great for portfolios) - Satisfaction in knowing that you helped a world-class event

Q: What should I wear while volunteering? A: Each volunteer will receive a Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon t-shirt to be worn during the event. In addition, all volunteers working outside of the Scotiabank Centre are required to wear an event provided SAFETY VEST. Please ensure you wear this on top of your clothing. This makes YOU more visible to motorists and easily identifiable by participants, spectators, and fellow volunteers. Please ensure you dress in layers as the weather conditions may change during your shift. Q: Will food be provided during my shift? A: A variety of beverages including coffee, tea, juice, water and refreshments will be available at the Volunteer Centre during your shifts. A meal schedule for those working during meal times will be posted closer to race weekend.

Race course volunteers can also take advantage of beverages and refreshments at their sector. Q: I’ve registered for more than one shift and plan on staying on site. Is there a volunteer area where I can hang out? A: There is a Volunteer Centre located on Level 3 Atrium of the WTCC. Q: If I have any questions leading up to Blue Nose weekend, who can I contact? A: Your Volunteer Coordinator’s information can be found in the email confirmation you received after signing up. If you cannot reach your Coordinator, send an email to [email protected].
