Key Lessons Learned

Strong device ownership by the health workers helps to reduce breakage/loss.

HEWs very quickly learn to use the devices and take good care of them

Ongoing technical support is required but it can be provided in ways that do not require extesnve travel.

The question for Governments is not if, but when, their health workers can expect mobile or digital

components to be an an integral part of their learning experience and professional lives

• The Government of Ethiopia's long term One WASH National Programme (OWNP) aims to modernise the way water and sanitation is delivered throughout the country.

• OpenWASH offers targeted learning to develop the expertise of WASH practitioners, and improve the effectiveness and sustainability of WASH projects.
