Vinay is moderator of the site. I responded to him by explaining him the number of new patients I see each day since last 38 years, and my interaction with them gives me enough understanding of human nature. Here is my reply as posted on Karmayog web site:

question is - Do you really want a solution?

Out of so many possible answers I suggest the most radical one.Close all temples once for all.God is too personal matter and not to be discussed in public. Each one of us has a different mental picture or perception of it. My god is my personal belonging and I cannot share it with anyone.Visiting temples is not the only way to prove about your faith.Look at the advantages of closing temples (all places of worship) - this will be first step towards cracking the "Religion Industry". Huge amount of dead money of this industry will be in the open market. There will be enough land for schools, colleges, and play grounds will be released. There will be no problem of crowd management.

Ban public display of faith. No more road blocks, no more segregation, no more sound pollution, no more ill feelings and no more communal riots. Harmony will be seen everywhere. No saffron, no green or white color. We all will have same color and all colors will be ours.Hinduism has a very unique philosophy. You can believe in God as a separate identity or you can unify your soul with the God and call "Shivoaham", Aham Brahmasmi, Tatavam asi. The freedom of thought is most wonderful philosophy. You can choose from 84,000 deities to worship or you need not go to any one of them and still you can be united with the God. Where is the need of Temple in between?

Ban construction of all new temples which are building up under a banyan or papal tree each day on any highway. A new temple means new devotees, a new road block, a source of new sound pollution, a creation of new sect, new caste, and new creed. There must be a government law for erection of new temples (all religions). All old temples must be registered and there should be a government body for rules & regulations. It can go on & on.In nutshell - Close all temples.
