George Eliot’s seventh novel: “Middlemarch: A Study of provincial Life”, Begun in 1869(1871-72).The
novel was appeared as a serial during 1871-1872.
GEORGE ELIOT
Virginia Woolf suggests: “The magnificent book that, with all its
imperfections, is one of the few English novels written for grown-up people”.
Martin Amis and Julian Barnes have cited it as probably the greatest novel in the
English language.

Will Ladislaw
Sir James Chettam is in love with Dorothea, but he marries Celia Brooke instead.
Reverend Edward who just used Dorothea as a tool to achieve his goal, but Dorothea came to know about his reality after her marriage to him, in Rome.
Dorothea seen Will Ladislaw as an unfortunate relative but others doesn’t knows the actual circumstances.
At the end of the novel Dorothea gives a shock to her family informing that she will marry Will Ladislaw.
