As a Catering Service, our main function is Food! This brochure provides you with fresh, contemporary menus. However, this represents a starting point. Our commitment is to customize and create whatever is required to provide you and your guests with an unforgettable experience.

MENU SELECTIONOur catering menus offer a wide variety of creative selections for your consideration. In addition, our experienced culinary staff would delight in the opportunity to custom design to your specific needs, whether they are dietary, monetary, decorative, gourmet or thematic. We look forward to assisting you in making your special event a memorable one.

BEVERAGE SELECTIONOur catering staff will be pleased to assist you in selecting the appropriate beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to complement your menu. A standard bartender fee, per hour, will be assessed for events involving alcohol service.

BEVERAGE SERVICEChartwells is responsible for the administration of the sale and service of alcoholic beverages in accordance with the Commonwealth of Kentucky Liquor Authority’s regulations. It is our policy, therefore, that no alcoholic beverages may be brought into THE NKU METS CENTER by the customer or the customer’s guests and that all liquor, beer and wine must be supplied by Chartwells. Our alcoholic beverage license requires Chartwells at THE NKU METS CENTER to (1) request proper identification (photo ID) of any person of questionable age and to refuse alcoholic beverage service if the person is either underage or if proper identification cannot be produced and (2) refuse alcoholic beverage service to any person who, in THE NKU METS CENTER judgement, appears intoxicated. Alcoholic beverages may not be removed from the premises.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE PRICESFood and beverage prices are subject to change without notice. Menu prices are guaranteed two months prior to your event.

TABLE LINENSTable Linens are available for $7.50 per table. Table Skirting is available for $17.00 per table therefore $24.50 per table for top and skirt.Chartwells provides a limited selection of tablecloths and coordinating napkins. Additional colors, fabrics, floor-length cloths and chair covers are available on a rental basis. Table Linens for food and beverage buffets and plated meals are included in the cost of the food prices indicated in the Catering Guide. Linens for Guest Seating for General Session, Continental Breakfast, and Cocktail Parties are additional and billed separately. Any table linens and skirting to be used for purposes other than food are additional and billed separately.

BRINGING FOOD IN / TAKING OUT FOODChartwells has the exclusive catering contract at THE NKU METS CENTER, therefore all food and beverage items must be supplied and prepared by Chartwells. No Food and Beverage of any kind will be permitted to be brought into the facility by the patron or patron’s guest or invitees without prior written approval of Chartwells Catering Manager. Food and Beverage Items (including packaged or bottled items) may not be taken off the premises. Therefore in conclusion, any leftover food remains property of Chartwells.

FINAL GUARANTEED COUNTFinal guaranteed counts for the event must be received 5 business days in advance for events on Monday thru Thursday and 6 business days in advance for events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (not counting weekends).For event on Final counts due by 5:00 p.m. on previousMonday ........................ Friday (6 business days)If the event’s final guaranteed count is not received within this time frame, the original estimated count will be used as the final guarantee for service and billing. However, we will be prepared to set and serve 3 percent over and above the guaranteed number. The number of guests charged for will be the guaranteed number of guests or the actual number of guests in attendance, whichever is greater.

MINIMUM GUEST COUNTS, TAX AND LABOR CHARGESFor parties with groups of fewer than 25 people, a one time service charge (per day) of $50.00 will be assessed. All food and beverage items are subject to 6% Kentucky sales tax. Buffet meals and reception menus are based on a 90 minute time limit due to health code regulations and Chartwells food quality standards. If an event requires additional time, an additional service fee may be applied.

BANQUET EVENT ORDERS/BILLINGOnce you have discussed your event with the Catering Office, a Banquet Event Order (BEO) will be emailed to you detailing the event. The BEO will need to be signed and returned to our catering offices no later than 10 days prior to the event in order to guarantee appropriate service of all selected items.A comprehensive bill of all charges that have been incurred is administered by THE NKU METS CENTER. It includes food, room, AV and any other services. The Catering Invoice is part of the back up documentation with the comprehensive bill.

SPECIAL SERVICESWhether it be floral arrangements, ice carvings, transportation or thematic props, our experienced catering and event production staff welcomes the opportunity to assist you with all the details that make a truly memorable event.
