OUR WEEK…

1° day: Monday

We had a walk around the school visiting the project corner and the classes. Then we played a game with baloons in which there were written our names and countries, this was finalized to meet all the members of the project.

2° day: Tuesday

All the host families prepared a various banquet full of typical food that we ate together in the saloon. After lunch we moved in front of the school where each delegation planted its own olive tree.

3° day: Wednesday

We played a word-game in the project corner, then we had luch at the “Lemon cafe & Restaurant” in the center of Dortyol. During th afternoon we made our presentations at the city court.

4th day: Thursday

In the morning we went to school for the departure to Iskenderun. When we arrived there we got onto the boat for the trip. We swam in the sea, then we had lunch and we danced on Turkish notes during the afternoon. Before dark we came back home and everyone had free time to spend with his family.

5th day: Friday

On Friday we went to Antakya. At first we visited the Habibi Neccar Mosque and the Saint Peter's monastry. After that we went to the bazaar in the city center and we bought some different things. We visited also an archeological museum and there we saw some mosaic of the ancient Troy. Then we moved to a restaurant to have lunch. At the end of the trip we returned to school and in the evening we had the closing party of the week.

…SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR TRADITIONS…

A Patriotic Country Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was a soldier

and a turkish politician who founded the turkish republic. He is considered the national hero and because of this in each public place there is something to remember him.

Their ReligionTurkey is a laic country. The majority of the people is muslim. Even though a big part of the population is not practicing they are so respectfull.

SchoolIn Turkey school starts at 8.00 am. Their lessons last about 50 minutes and between them they have 10 minutes of break.Each classroom has a whiteboard.In school there is a big courtyard where there are some sport fields; In addition there is a bar with every kind of food and drinks.

Turkish MealThey are used to have lunch at 1pm and dinner at 9pm. They usually eat very spicy meat which most time is kebab. They eat it with lot’s of fresh vegetables which are needed to stop the hot flavor. Side dishes are usually put in the middle of the table so everyone can take them. They also drink a mix of water and milk as beverage. They love drinking tea at every time of the day.
