HORROR QUESTIONNAIRE
Intro• For the questionnaire I decided to focus on one distinct
genre that my film would focus on. Rather than making one about all the genre’s I will be incorporating into the film.
• My questionnaire began with asking questions like “what is your gender?” & “what is your age?”. I chose to begin with these questions because then I could then find out what specific age groups enjoy which specific things.
• I then asked how much each person enjoyed horror films. I felt I should pay more attention to the responses that came from people that love the genre.
• After the last question I then asked about their “favourite horror film”. This was to find out which horror films are liked the most. If horror films that I haven’t seen were mentioned, I planned to watch them for inspiration.
• The film that was mentioned the most was Shaun of the Dead.
• My following question was:
I received these responses:
• I asked this question as I was thinking of only showing, and giving more detail to, the antagonist in the opening. The results show that most people aren’t worried which characters I give screen-time to.
• Since I was interested in creating a film mostly based in the horror genre, I decided to find out which villain was most loved. It turns out the type of bad guy I was planning to choose was one of the most popular (psychopathic killer).
*The ‘other’ responses were both “alien”
• This question was asked to see if an audience would enjoy watching my film with lots of characters.
• The results show that overall viewers don’t really mind how many characters are active in a horror film.
• It is worth noting that only half the people that were asked this question answered it. Once again showing that people don’t have a strong opinion on the size of the cast.
• Everyone that answered this question opted with ‘yes’. This shows that I should definitely take into consideration a horror film which mixes with another genre. (I had planned to add a ‘detective’ genre into the mix).
• To follow up with the last question I concluded with this one. Again, it helped me consider what genre(s) to use in my film.
