Masters in Art Therapy Masters degree is required to work as a clinical art
therapist. AATA approved graduate programs 60 credit program requirements to graduate meets
all educational requirements for licensure as a professional counselor in the State of CT. and is approved by the Education Program Approval Board (EPAB) of AATA. Graduates are ready to sit for LPC exams
This strong course of study provides Art Therapy Program graduates the opportunity to sit for the LPC exam and qualify for licensing as a professional counselor in CT.

Structure: 3 semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer) Majority of courses are evening; some are afternoon Classes meet 1x week per course Full Time (3-4 courses) or Part Time (2 courses) status Financial aid available

Application Process REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION
OF APPLICATION: Bachelor’s degree from an Accredited
college or university 2.8 GPA (minimum) 18 credits in studio art (drawing,
painting, ceramics/sculpture) 15 credits in psychology
(developmental, abnormal, statistics) Proficiency in English- TOEFL score
minimum of 94/120 Admission is competitive – meeting
these requirements does not guarantee admission
Application Process All materials must be
submitted before a personal interview is scheduled Completed application form
(on-line or print) $50 non-refundable
application fee Official transcripts from all
institutions of higher education
Two Letters of recommendation
Personal essay (minimum 2 pages)
Art portfolio – (minimum 10 images of variety of media)
Acceptance Rolling Admissions- generally take
a class of 16-18/year Admit for Fall and Spring Up to 12 transfer credits
Must match with MAAT course material- graduate work
50% acceptance rate Primarily women, wide range of ages
and experience Passion for using art to communicate
and in healing
