Unit 57: Photography and Photographic Practice
Research of other photographers work (P1, M1, D1)
Photographer:mark morris
Mark morris uses themes natural settings, body art and amateurish camera technique which make his photographs so popular they adopt a casual and relaxed manner which is usually quite rare; he also shoots women a lot in sexually provocative actions he tries to create a fantasy element within the majority of his pictures.
Personally I think body art ( tattoos and piercings )are the main focus of his pictures he poses in a few of them himself most are topless and a lot of the pictures aren’t just plain pictures a lot of them have movement in.
Composition
A lot of the photographs are shot in a plain studio mark morris tries to use plain backgrounds as to accentuate the colours worn by the people being shot in the photo they also used editing techniques to either warm up or cool the skin colour so that the tattoos and piercings really stand out and look more detailed
Most of the pictures are shot directly at the body he sometimes uses just portrait from the shoulders up or he chooses a full body image
Techniques used
Think shutter speeds, rule of thirds & depth of field
Strengths & Weaknesses
I’m like the way he uses eccentric body art and amateur photography to make his pictures look more like on a phone I like the simple ideas he keeps everything simple however I think he could use more motion in his picture like some hand movements or just different poses
