As part of its sustained commitment to increase training and educaonal opportunies in themes related to marine biology and ecology, the AquaBioTech Group also offers a number of short, intensive, hands- on courses in the marine sciences. www.aquabt.com Central Complex, Naggar Street, Targa Gap, Mosta MST 1761, Malta G.C. | T +356 2258 4100 | E [email protected] COURSE SCHEDULE Day 1 - 1 st & 2 nd Lecture (Duration: 4.5 Hours) 2.00pm – The coastal environment, habitats, vertical and horizontal zonation, species adaptations 4.30pm – Overview of the major marine habitats and species within the Mediterranean Day 2 - 3 rd & 4 th Lecture (Duration: 4.5 Hours) 2.00pm – Plankton and major physical phenomena in the sea 4.30pm – Introduction to impact ecology – overview of human impacts on the marine environment Day 3 - Field Activity Participants can choose one of the following activities Snorkeling session Discover SCUBA diving (includes two (2) dives - PADI certified course) Open-water SCUBA dive using underwater communication equipment Registration Fee: 150€ - 170€ Language: English Duration: Three (3) days Participation: A maximum number of twenty (20) people will be able to attend each course Location: The course will take place in Mosta, Malta at the AquaBioTech’s premises The dive and snorkelling activities will take place in open water.
