Published and distributed by Antipodean Educational Enterprises in Australia, the original versions of this book are still difficult to find in Bekasi. Since the materials of this book are very useful for secondary schools teachers and students, I decided to rewrite this book in an edited form, special for the limited Educational Community of STKIP Panca Sakti Bekasi. Moreover, many reading materials are presently being some trends of genre. Meanwhile, the knowledge of the secondary schools teachers about genre itself is merely on the surface. In fact, as an iceberg in the ocean, there are much bigger things in the depth to master. That’s why, the students of STKIP Panca Sakti Bekasi have to know more about functional grammar, which – of course – is the most salient factor of genre identification. Thus, the students of STKIP Panca Sakti Bekasi are to be the pioneers of the meaningful understanding of genre. They must not know merely on the surface, but also deeply understand the processes of producing the identification from beneath, the disappearing iceberg. Not having the formers of this kind of way, the knowledge about genre will remain like this.

PREFACE

Thanks to Allah, The Almighty, for I’d finished editing a book tittled

‘Making Sense of Functional Grammar’ written by the twain Linda Gerot

and Peter Wignell, without any meaningful handicaps.

Published and distributed by Antipodean Educational Enterprises in

Australia, the original versions of this book are still difficult to find in

Bekasi.

Since the materials of this book are very useful for secondary schools

teachers and students, I decided to rewrite this book in an edited form,

special for the limited Educational Community of STKIP Panca Sakti

Bekasi.

Moreover, many reading materials are presently being some trends of genre.

Meanwhile, the knowledge of the secondary schools teachers about genre

itself is merely on the surface. In fact, as an iceberg in the ocean, there are

much bigger things in the depth to master.

That’s why, the students of STKIP Panca Sakti Bekasi have to know more

about functional grammar, which – of course – is the most salient factor of

genre identification. Thus, the students of STKIP Panca Sakti Bekasi are to

be the pioneers of the meaningful understanding of genre. They must not

know merely on the surface, but also deeply understand the processes of

producing the identification from beneath, the disappearing iceberg. Not

having the formers of this kind of way, the knowledge about genre will

remain like this.

I, deliberately, dissmissed several parts of the original book, for the purpose

of supporting the students to be more creative by applying some various

ways of problem solving.

At last, I wish that the materials of this style will be understandable for

everyone who learns genre, then.

Happy learning!
