During the research of music magazines, I found a variety of magazines which share the same appeal of music genre and image as we want to create with our digipack.

We aim to create a fresh, young and original image through our music video, album cover and magazine advert. Our target demographic is aimed at male and females between the ages of 16 – 24; however there is a theme of male camaraderie shown. Magazines such as Q, NME, RollingStone and MOJO all have a predominantly Rock, Indie & punk rock, and alternative pop fan base, as well as a variety of cult genres, therefore as our song and artist fall under those categories; our advert could be associated with each magazine.

The magazines Q, NME and MOJO are all British and hold a foundation of the UK, supporting and promoting various British artists, although they are always encouraging acts from abroad as well as a diversity of genres. For instance John Lennon (UK) and Bob Dylan (USA) were on the cover of the first issues of MOJO in 1993.

As our artist, Jamie T, is a singer/songwriter from South London he fits the mould for magazines such as NME, due to his authentic, outspoken and innovative style. The NME is a popular music magazine, first published in 1952, and has maintained a current and definitive appeal to music listeners through generations because of the rough, realistic image which has been created in our music video, and the age of our target demographic, NME would be a more suited magazine for our advert for the album due to its wide predominantly rock fan base and its youthful audience.
