MissionOur mission is to raise public awareness and

mobilize a massive response to establish a

lasting and just peace in all of the atrocities in

Sudan's western region of Darfur.

About the Foundation The Save Darfur Foundation was formed as a response

to a rebellion in 2003 of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and its allied militia, known as the Janjaweed. They launched a campaign of destruction against the civilian population of

ethnic groups identified with the rebels. They wiped out entire villages, destroyed food and water supplies, stole

livestock and systematically murdered, tortured and raped civilians. The Sudanese government's genocidal, scorched

earth campaign has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives through direct violence, disease and starvation. They still, to this day, continue to destabilize the region. Millions have fled

their homes and live in dangerous camps in Darfur, and hundreds of thousands are refugees in neighboring Chad.

Violence continues today. Ultimately, the fate of the Darfuri people depends on establishing a lasting and just peace in all of Sudan and in the region. Based on Sudan’s behavior over

the past few years, it’s became clear that unless the international community imposes additional political costs for Omar al-Bashir, his government will continue to destroy. This foundation was formed to mobilize a salient response to the

atrocities in Darfur.

Links to Critical Thinking, Critical Action, and Critical Reading

The Save Darfur organization has to gather information and facts about the issues going on in Darfur to explain them to the public to raise awareness.

We also have to construct conferences and meetings to organize fundraisers and events to sponsor our foundation.

We encourage individuals worldwide to take informed action against the unjust cruelties in Darfur and to be open to ideas on how to put a stop to it.

We are determined to explicate the proper steps needed to make a definite change.

Together we can make the change….
