This is the homepage that will be featured within the app. I chose this as the homepage as it’s the middle icon and so is a good starting place for the users to begin using the app.

The page features a search bar at the top which is outlined in white to allow it to stand out amongst the map. This will aid the target audience as it allows them to quickly search for an area to view the different locations within that specific area. This reduces the amount of effort and time that is needed to satisfy the audiences needs, encouraging them to use the app more often.

It also features red pins that will stand out amongst the map to notify users of where there is a location for them to visit and explore. Upon selecting the pin they will be able to discover information about the location, this allows the users to quickly and efficiently explore different places just by tapping the one icon, this will appeal to the target audience (families) as it allows them to quickly discover locations without spending a long time looking for them.

There is a speaker icon that features on the right side of the page which enables the user to turn the ‘Maps’ into a satellite navigation system, when selecting the speaker, if the user has not purchased the special feature to be able to do this, they will then be given the opportunity. This appeals to the target audience as it provides them with more features they can utilise effectively, making it easier for them to receive directions from their current location to final destination.

The toolbar along the bottom of the page allows the user to navigate throughout the application with ease. The icons that I chose for each page are easily identifiable, meaning the lack of text to explain them is justifiable. This provides a cleaner looking layout for the app and allows the target audience to swiftly move between pages.

‘Maps’ Page

The ‘Saved’ Page will be the page in which users can create an account within the app to be able to ‘save’ the different locations they have been looking at on the ‘Maps’, ‘Reviews’ and ‘Search’ pages.

The ‘Saved’ page gives the user the option to ‘Sort’ their results to allow them to be displayed in a certain way, for example users could select to sort their saved locations by ‘Distance – Near to Far’ to be presented with the locations that are closer to their current location first. This aid the target audience as it adds to the convenience of the app by giving them the option to display their saved locations whatever y is easiest for them at that moment.

The main section of the page will feature the locations in which the users have saved to go back to later. As displayed in the final design, when a location is saved, it will be previewed within the ‘Saved’ page previewing the name, address and star rating of the location, as well as giving the users the option to view the full details of the location, including reviews, images, etc. This benefits the target audience as it allows them to save locations they come across when they have time to scroll through the app, so that they can choose a day out quickly at a moment when they have less time and in a rush or inconvenienced and not have the chance to spend time searching.

The ‘Saved’ page allows the user to create an account within the application, their details will be displayed at the top of the ‘Saved’ page, showing the user that they are logged in. However, they are also given the option to log in with another account or create a new account. The user is also given the opportunity to upload a profile picture to the app which will be displayed when they leave a review or converse with others within the ‘Chat’ page. This is suitable for the target audience as it allows users to interact with others who are also using the app, as well as giving them the opportunity to save locations they are looking at to view at a later date.

The toolbar along the bottom of the page allows the user to navigate throughout the application with ease. The icons that I chose for each page are easily identifiable, meaning the lack of text to explain them is justifiable. This provides a cleaner looking layout for the app and allows the target audience to swiftly move between pages.‘Saved’ Page
