In this festival the people dress up in beautiful costumes and dance around a pole, also called "Maypole". Maypole is decorated with many coloured ribbons, and each ribbon represents the colours of the rainbow. There are beautiful floral decorations everywhere too.Also, there are some men named "the Morris men" that do a traditional dance called "Morris Dance". They dance with bells and handkerchiefs. In addition, there is a queen: the most beautiful woman of the village becomes the Queen of May. What’s more, May Day is a bank holiday in Britain, a day off school and work.
