INTRODUCTION

Limehouse Books is an independent publisher of quality fiction and non-fiction. Founded in October 2009 – originally under the name Glasshouse Books – we have grown to publish eight print titles, with two more to come in 2012, as well as one iPhone app and one digital-only project.

Uniquely we commission every title we publish and obtain World English Language rights in both print and digital. Our aim is to be a small, focussed publishing house with a global reach. To this end we are seeking distribution in new territories to ensure that we have availability of stock through various channels in this ever changing landscape.

Over the next few pages you will see an eclectic list of titles, all of them with one unifying characteristic:

Books that are beautifully designed and produced, printed to respect the environment and intended for me, you, everyone.

Kind regards,

Bobby Nayyar

Managing Director and CEO

4AFTER MY OWN HEART

The course of true love never did run straight . . .

Evie Day has never wanted a boyfriend – she’s gay, out and proud, and as far as she’s concerned, her life is perfect that way. But when her girlfriend leaves her for a leggy blonde, everything changes – her flat, her friends, her future – and she finds herself having feelings for an old friend, who just happens to be a man. To say that things aren’t turning out the way she planned is an understatement.

With her best friend Jamie’s Big Fat Gay Wedding looming on the horizon, Evie struggles to choose between her ex, her old friend, a new best friend in the form of a beautiful, chaotic burlesque artist, and a grumpy but distracting new flatmate.

All she wants to do is find the One, but for Evie, thinking straight never did come naturally . . .

Founded on April 29, 2009 as a global governing body for poker – a non-profit federation based on the same legal criteria and principles as those of other mainstream sports – the International Federation of Poker (IFP) was established in Lausanne, Switzerland, a venue symbolising international sports cooperation.

The IFP serves as the governing body to which National Poker Federations can affiliate. Its goal is the promotion of poker as a Mind Sport played without any discrimination as to race, sex or creed.

As well as organising major international tournaments, both team and individual, the IFP will be working to standardise tournament rules, as well as compiling international rankings alongside each member-nation’s own national rankings. The IFP will also draw together all the arguments, evidence and testimony gathered around the world by national federations or their equivalents which have been called upon to contest restrictive laws or punitive taxation. A series of academic and legal studies can be found in the IFP Library.

EXIT THROUGH THE WOUND

Maine Hudson has a high tolerance for pharmaceuticals and a low tolerance for everything and everyone else. This includes his Greek parents, who bankroll his glorious isolation in London.

This includes his career as a consultant, his clients, his boss, the majority of his colleagues and people he sees on the way to work.

This includes the dumb model boyfriend of the American girl that he has decided to fall in love with.

This includes her also.

When Maine fails to obliterate himself through drug overdoses, the obsessive changing of his legal name and half-hearted thoughts of suicide, it falls to his central nervous system to pick up the challenge of trying to kill him off.

Can Maine survive with his lack of values intact?

While researching a photoessay on the first decade of the 21st century, Tarsem discovers a photograph of Rubina, a former university friend now working as a campaigner. Unable to comfort his wife who has just recovered from her second miscarriage, and cope with the spectre of restructure and redundancy at his office, he contacts her. In reconnecting he faces the prejudices of his youth. Tarsem is Sikh, Rubina is Muslim. And the last ten years have seen them follow opposing paths shaded by events beyond their control. Encouraged by her, Tarsem travels to India with his parents unaware of the impact it will have on all their lives.
