I NTRODUCTION OF THE LESSON:DURATION: 10 MINUTES

I as the teacher will introduce the lesson by instructing my learners to stay calm and relaxed and to close their eyes I will then start reading Ntombi’s life story to my learners whilst my learners should be picturing the story.

The learners will respond by closing their eyes and listening to the story whilst picturing the whole scenario happening.

PROGRESSION OF THE LESSON: DURATION: 30 MINUTES

During the core of my lesson I will ask the learners to explain how Ntombi dealt with the difficulties that she had faced

I will then give the correct explanation to the learners regarding Ntombi”s life story and how she dealt with it.

The learners will respond by giving me a brief explanation regarding the way in which Ntombi dealt with her life threatening situation that she had undergone

The learners will respond by listening attentively to my explanation based on Ntombi’s life story as well as how she had dealt with it

CONTINATION OF THE PROGRESSION OF THE LESSON:

1)Definition of assertiveness:

I will ask my learners to define assertiveness.

I will then put up a power point slide and provide the learners with the correct definition of assertiveness whilst elaborating on it.

The learners will respond by providing a definition of assertiveness.

The learners will respond by observing the information whilst listening to me adding onto the slide

CONTINATION OF THE PROGRESSION OF THE LESSON:

2)Factors that contribute to being assertive:

I will ask my learners if they now what factors add on or contribute to assertiveness.

Thereafter I will put up a power point slide with the correct information regarding the factors that contribute to being assertive whilst I will be explaining it in much more detail.

The learners will respond by proving/listing factors that add to being assertive.

 The learners will respond by observing the information and by listening to my detailed explanation on the very topic.

CONTINUATION OF THE PROGRESSION OF THE LESSON:

3)Types of behaviours that assertiveness can be seen between with the inclusion of examples:

I will ask the learners what are the two types of behaviours and to provide relevant examples of each.

Thereafter I will provide the learners with additional and correct information from the PowerPoint slide in relation to the very topic while I will expand on the information.

The learners will respond by naming the two types of behaviours and listing some examples.

The learners will respond by observing the information on the board whilst listening to me expanding on the a slide

CONTINUATION OF THE PROGRESSION OF THE LESSON:

4)Detailed explanation of passiveness and aggression:

I will ask the learners what exactly is passiveness and aggression.

Thereafter I will put up a slide which will include the correct explanations of passiveness as well as aggression which I will be explaining further.

Learners will respond by providing an explanation of passiveness and aggression.

The learners will respond by observing and listening with regard to the information.

CONTINUATION OF THE PROGRESSION OF THE LESSON:

5)How can one be more assertive?

I will ask the learners in what way can a person be more assertive.

I will then put up a power point slide which I will explain based on tips in which one can be more assertive

Learners will respond by giving ways in which a person can be more assertive.

Learners will respond by observing as well as by listening to what the power point slide entails.

6)When does a person need help in becoming assertive?:

I will ask the learners when does a person need help in becoming assertive?

I will then put up slide with the relevant information regarding when a person needs help in becoming assertive

Learners will respond by providing times or situations in which a person needs help in becoming assertive.

Learners will respond by observing and listening

attentively.

CONCLUSION OF THE LESSON:DURATION: 5 MINUTES

I will conclude my lesson by summing up what was thought during the course of the lesson.

Thereafter I will ask my learners if they have any questions with regards to the content that was thought

Learners will respond by listening.

The learners will respond by asking questions.

CONTINUATION OF THE CONCLUSION OF THE LESSON:

Thereafter I will provide answers to the questions that learners ask.

And lastly will provide a homework activity that my learners will have to prepare and act out in the next Life-Orientation period this activity will include a role play of 5 minutes in which learners have to act out in groups of 3 based on assertiveness

Thereafter I will hand out a rubric to my learners to illustrate to them how they will be assessed.

The learners will respond by listening.

The learners will respond by listening to my instructions and thereafter making groups or selecting classroom mates randomly to prepare their role play with.

o The learners will respond by examining the rubric.
