Where do you check-in books?
At the check-in station.
How should your books be
stacked?
Your books should be
stair-stacked so you can
see the barcodes.
Where do you put your books after you have checked them
in?
If you are in Kinder - 3rd grade you will
put them on the cart.
If you are in 4th & 5th grade, you will put
them on the shelves.
Where do you look on the book
to determine where it should be
put back?
Look on the spine of the
book. The spine
label is like the book’s
home address.
When looking for a new book, what do you use to hold a book’s spot on the
shelf?
Your spacer holds the book’s place.
When you are not looking for a book, where
should you hold your spacer?
Your spacer should be
at your side.
When you find a book you want,
what should you do with it?
When you find a book,
put it on the table you are
sitting at.
How many books can you check
out?
- If you leave a book at home, how many can
you get?
- How many books can you
get if you leave 1 books at home?
You can check-out 2 books from now on,
unless you lost a book last year.
Can 3rd or 4th graders check
out magazines?
Yes, you can get one magazine at a
time as long as there is a check-
out bag available.They are not ready today though.
When you have all your books, where can you
find your library card?
In the notebook on the corner of
the Librarian’s
desk.
When you have your card and your books
are stair-stacked, where do you check-
out?
At the check-
out station.
What should you press on the keyboard when you are done checking-
out?
You should press the red 1 and blue 2 on the
keyboard, so the person after you does not check
their books out under your name.
Where does your library card go when you are done checking-
out?
In your grade level’s notebook find your teacher’s folder and place your library card inside.
Once you have checked out
what should you do?
Find a spot to read.
How long can you keep your
books?
You can keep your books for 2 weeks.
There are no late fines, but remember someone else might really want to read
that book...so return it when you are done!
