CIO magazine:

Although service disruptions experienced by Google get plenty of attention, those types of incidents don't happen very often, and they don't last as long as many enterprise outages. And there hasn't been a major compromise of a SaaS operation reported yet, even as we continue to read regular accounts of security breaches in traditional IT environments.

What is the librarian’s role in implementation?

Transparency

Page 85: Libincloudwkshp online

Librarians are viewed with suspicion!

Page 86: Libincloudwkshp online

What does the librarian do all day?

Page 87: Libincloudwkshp online

Transparency

… in a social context implies openness, communication, and accountability

Page 88: Libincloudwkshp online

Transparency rules

Effective organizations embrace transparency.

Page 89: Libincloudwkshp online

Transparency rules

The first reason that transparency rules is that it’s going to, whether we like it or not. Easy access to information means that the public’s appetite for accountability cannot be thwarted.

Page 90: Libincloudwkshp online

Transparency rules

• The second reason it rules is that transparency is a good thing; in fact, it is essential to success. — to keep information private or to refuse even to collect it—are neither acceptable nor useful.

Page 91: Libincloudwkshp online

Transparency rules

Knowing that transparency is both inevitable and desirable for successful organizations makes it far less threatening.

Page 93: Libincloudwkshp online

About what do you need to be transparent

What tools can you use to accomplish this?

Page 94: Libincloudwkshp online

Put it online…

1. Put your schedule online2. Put your budget online3. Put your newsletter online4. Put your goals and objectives online5. Put your policies, rules and

guidelines online6. Put your advisory committee

minutes online7. Put surveys and polls online
