LEARNING OBJECTIVES To recognize and incorporate new vocabulary related to food. To reproduce some food items either orally or by writing them down. To practice the listening, speaking and writing macro- kills. WARM UP - The teacher will introduce herself to the group. - The teacher will give the students badges with their names. - The teacher will begin the class checking the attendance and writing down the date on the board. - The teacher will show a poster about the “Food Circle” and she will ask some questions to the students: Do you know the “Food circle”?, Do you recognize some of these food items?, Which ones?, Do you usually eat or drink some of them?, Which ones?. - The teacher will introduce some food items that appear in the “Food Circle” using flashcards: cake, chocolate, pasta, cereals, banana, orange, tomato, carrot, yoghurt, fish, egg, fizzy drink, juice.

WARM UP- The teacher will introduce herself to the group.- The teacher will give the students badges with their names.- The teacher will begin the class checking the attendance and writing down the

date on the board.- The teacher will show a poster about the “Food Circle” and she will ask some

questions to the students: Do you know the “Food circle”?, Do you recognize some of these food items?, Which ones?, Do you usually eat or drink some of them?, Which ones?.

- The teacher will introduce some food items that appear in the “Food Circle” using flashcards: cake, chocolate, pasta, cereals, banana, orange, tomato, carrot, yoghurt, fish, egg, fizzy drink, juice.

- The teacher will say aloud each of the food items and the students will repeat them after her.

- The teacher will give the students a copy with the same food items that appear on the board and they will write down the name of each item.

DEVELOPMENT

First activity:- The teacher will give the students a copy with an alphabet soup and they will have

to look and find some food items.- The teacher will check the activity with the students.

Type of interaction: Students individually.Macro-skills: Writing.Timing: 5 minutes.Materials: Copies.

Second activity:- The teacher will give the students another copy with drawings of different food

items and the students will have to write the name of each of them in order to answer this question: “What’s this?”.

- The teacher will check the activity with the students.

Type of interaction: Students individually.Macro-skills: Writing.Timing: 5 minutes.Materials: Copies.

Third activity:- The teacher will give the students a copy with some instructions and a food

pyramid. The students will have to colour the some of the items following the instructions.

- The teacher will check the activity with the students.

Type of interaction: Students individually.Macro-skills: Writing.Timing: 7 minutes.Materials: Copies.

CLOSING UP:- The teacher will pick up the badges and will say goodbye.

Timing: 3 minutes.
