UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULTIES File – is a collection of text and data

saved under a unique name. Most of the information stored on your computer is stored in files.

Folder – containers for programs, files and other folders, which you can see in My Computer and Windows Explorer.

Filename – The name given to a File.

Filename – the name given to a file

Period - separates file from filename extension

Filename extension- identifies the type of file created.

1. Naming Your File a. When you give a name to your

file, try to use a word that appropriately and accurately describe its content. b. Don’t use the same file name for two different files.

3. Create a Folder for every classification your documents belong.
