What is the project all about?

• It’s about connecting two groups of students and teachers who are passionate about learning languages and the rich cultures behind those languages.

• Es sobre conectar dos grupos de estudiantes y profesores quienes estan apasionados por el aprendizaje de idiomas y la enriquesidas culturas detras de estas.

What is the project all about?• It uses web-based

technology to partner students from Colombia learning English and students from Ireland learning Spanish to text and talk to each other using skype on a one-to-one basis. • Utiliza la tecnología basada

en la web para los estudiantes emparejar estudiantes de ingles de Colombia y estudiantes de español de Irlanda, para luego escribirse y hablar entre si.

How does it work(i)?

• 7 hours contact time• 1 session (of 1 hour each

session) for 7 non-consecutive weeks + handing in of work

• 1 general skype meeting with all involved

• 1 skype chat• 4 skype one-to-one

conversations• 1 general evaluation skype

meeting with all involved• Handing in of all work and

sharing it with your partner (not contact – by email)

• 7 horas de contacto• 1 session (de 40 min cada

sesion) por 7 semanas no consecutivas + trabajo a entregar.

• 1 reunion en general con todos los involucrados.

• Session 5: Skype face-to-face – To be confirmed

• Session 6: Evaluation in general skype with everybody

• Session 7: All evaluations into your teacher

• Session 8: Receive evaluations from your partner

What will the sessions look like? ¿Como seran las sesiones?

• You will be paired up with a student from the other country and stay with this student throughout

• 20 mins of Spanish – both parties speak one language and then swap to 20 minutes of English on a pre-planned topic of conversation.

• Each student will have prepared some questions and responses for the conversation

• Usted sera emarejado con un estudiante del otro pais , con quien estara durante todo el proceso.

• 20 min de Español – ambos estudiantes hablan un idioma y luego despues de 20 min cambian a hablar 20 min en Ingles

Una conversacion Pre planeada.• Cada estudiante preparara

unas preguntas y respuestas para las conversaciones.

How will I be assessed? ¿Como voy a ser evaluado?

• Questionnaire after each session on specific learning points

• Reflective log to be written at the end of each session and finalised at the end of the project

• Each teacher can tell each group what its worth for your overall grade

• Un cuestionario sobre los puntos especificos de aprendizaje después de cada sesión.

• Se escribirá un diario reflexivo al final de cada sesión y al final de cada proyecto.

• Cada profesor le dirá a su grupo el valor de la nota.
