Hosrow and Shirin "also called Farhad and Shirin is a classical Iranian romance; that illustrates the love of King Hosrow towards Shirin, an Armenian princess. The sage Nizami has immortalized the story in his precious work, which is a masterpiece of Persian literature. Nezami’s beautiful poetry has made the story justly famous in Persia and in the Indian subcontinent as well as the whole world.

Flighty, He was not loyal, as he had relationship with the other women accept his beloved Shirin.

The jealousy of Khosru was excited, and he lamented to his courtiers the existence of a passion which was so violent as not to be concealed, and which gave him great uneasiness. He summoned Ferhad to his presence, and commissioned him to execute a work which should render his name immortal---to clear away all impediments which obstructed the passage of the great mountain of Beysitoun. He commanded him, after having done this, to cause the rivers on the opposite side of the mountain to join.

Brave- In order to gain Shirin’s love he escapes from his father in order to be with Shirin..iHe even rescues her from a lion by killing the animal with his bare hands

• The poet Nizami (1140-1209CE), forms the favorite romantic reading of Persians even today. He is the chief teller of love tales for his people. He wrote five long poetic books, commonly called "The Five Treasures." Among these the "Hosrow and Shirin," here quoted, is generally regarded as his masterpiece, because this story serves as a best example for the lovers to be honest with each other, trust each other and do the best in order to make happy each other.
