Most inspired by her mother.

Attended Hofstra University, majoring in Economics.

Author of four award-winning novels.

Inspiration for Jumped

Professor at Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Wrote Jumped to examine each persons role in peer violence.

Observed NYC classrooms for two years.

Information found in section entitled "Behind the Book" in Jumped.

Audience: Juvenile Detention Center8th through 12th grade
