1 Judicial Branch Review Game Rules 3 part game/ 3 teams competing for first place 1 st place will receive winner’s prize 2 nd /3 rd place receive consolation prizes Part 1: Taboo (Three 90 second rounds) For two rounds, one group member will go up in front of the group/class and will have 90 seconds to describe four words that only they can see without saying the words. ****Only that member’s group may answer. In these rounds each correct answer is worth one point. If a team clears all words they get a bonus point for that round. For leftover words there will be a 3 rd lightning round. Each group will have a representative come up and try to guess a word based on definition read by teacher. Only the representative may ring the bell to answer, if any other person answers that group loses a point and their turn that round. Correct answers in this round are two points. If all three group representatives fail to guess correctly, the word is opened to all students. The first one that raises their hand can guess to earn their group 1 point. Part 2: Crossword Groups will each be given one crossword puzzle to complete. The group that finishes the fastest will earn 10 points. Second place will earn 7 points and third place 5 points. Since there is only one crossword per group communication and teamwork are key to winning. If a group finishes continue working while their work is checked. If no team finishes after 10 minutes then the group that has the most number of correct entries will earn the 10 points. Part 3: Question and Answer Short Answer Each group will send up a representative to try to answer a short response question. Again the representatives are the only ones that can ring in and answer and if anyone other group member answers, their group loses 2 points this time. For a correct answer in this round the groups will each earn 3 points. Again if the three representatives fail to answer the question correctly, it will be opened to everyone and the group member who answers correctly will earn their group 2 second chance points. Extended Answer For these questions the group will collaborate for a few minutes and present their answer to the question. The first question will be worth 10 points. The second question will be worth considerably more points as your group will describe something to the rest of the class and will earn 2 points for each correct response. To discourage sandbagging, each correct response will also earn the responder’s group one point.
