What's a comic? Comic (from the Greek κωμικός, kōmikos

"of or pertaining to comedy") denotes a hybrid medium having words tightly tied to its visual aspect in order to convey narrative or information

Comics in the 20th century Throughout the 20th century the comic was

considered as one of the main social and cultural ways of reivindication.

The comic quickly became a symbol of rebellion and nonconformism. Later, many artists started creatig different stories all over the world, as we know today.

This became a great success in America. That's the reason why many artists worldwide copied Alfred Newman and made their own comics. But in Japan they had started drawing ages before.

In 1810 Katshushika Hokusai had created the Manga genre, man (involuntary) and ga (picture)

Nowadays this genre is considered as one of the most important ones. Since its creation in 1810, it has sold billions of comics all over the world, and it has been translated into 200 languages.
