Existing Laws
Philippine Copyright Law (RA 8293)
An act providing protection to literary and artistic works and also protect patents, trademarks, and other forms of
intellectual property.
Electronic Commerce Act (RA 8792)
An act providing for the recognition and use of electronic commercial and non-commercial transactions penalties
for unlawful use thereof, and other purposes.
Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and discrimination Act (RA 7610)
An act of providing for stronger deterrence and special protection against child abuse, childe prostitution and
incident shows and other acts of abuse and circumstances which endanger child survival and normal development.
Anti – trafficking Person Act (RA 8293)
an act to institute policies to eliminate trafficking in persons, especially women and children, establishing the
necessary institutional mechanisms for the protection and support of trafficked persons, providing penalties for its
violations.
Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262)
An act defining violence against women and their children, providing for protective measure for
victims, and prescribing penalties.
Proposed Bills
Anti-Computer Fraud and Abuses Act
-The bill defines computer fraud and offenses covered by the term “computer-related fraudulent activities.”
-It provides penalties for violations of the proposed act and authorizes the National Security Council to
investigate computer-related crimes vis-à-vis their effects on national security.
Cybercrime Prevention Act
the bill seeks to define cybercrime, identify punishable acts involving computers, provide penalties, determine
legal procedures for the investigation and prosecution of cybercrimes, clarify jurisdiction, and provide for a clause
on mutual assistance and cooperation.
Anti-Cybercrime law The law declares that the state is to protect the society against the upsurge of computer fraud, destruction of electronic systems and properties and proliferation of
cyber-crime brought about by the continuing globalization of computer networks.
