Royal Naval College and on the banks of the River Thames. The university’s largest campus, it is centred on three baroque buildings, designed by Sir Christopher Wren at the end of the 17th century.

The surrounding town is a mix of markets, shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as some of the most famous museums and tourist attractions in the country. Halls of residence are close to campus and by train, central London is only a few minutes away.

What will you study?

International Foundation Programme You may be offered this programme if you have achieved a score of between 4.5 and 6.0 in your International English Language Testing System (IELTS). You will complete courses in order to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0. If you already have a score of 6.0, you can study academic subjects in preparation for entry to one of our undergraduate degree programmes.

● Context and Culture

● Business Numeracy

This is a rapidly changing subject area and course content may change in order to ensure that it is up to date and industrially relevant.

International Foundation Programme with Cultural Studies This programme is for students who have been educated in English, but whose first language is not English, and who are preparing for undergraduate study in the United Kingdom. Courses focus on study skills, business, mathematics, computing and British life and culture. There are also option courses that you may take to concentrate on particular skills or to study in greater depth a subject that you find particularly interesting.

Students studying these programmes have to hand a wealth of resources; these include language laboratories, extra language practice with an English language assistant, computing facilities and our Language Centre. The centre, which is part of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, holds a range of multimedia resources and provides a welcoming and friendly environment in which to learn. It is holds a wide range of specialist equipment and materials, and has staff who are experienced in language learning and ready to help you.
