Allowing students to choose provides them with intrinsic
motivation.
Students are motivated to learn about topics that are of interest
to them.
Provide students a variety of media materials to accomplish the
assigned task (Powerpoint, Blogs, Wikis, Digital Storytelling,
etc)
Give students the freedom to choose their own topics

7. Challenge
Providing tasks to students that are just beyond their skill level
but keep them motivated.

Teacher provides feedback during students drafts of work. Teacher
explains where the students can improve, what to add, or what to
edit out.
This provides students with self efficacy and sustains their
motivation.
Students can use rubrics and online websites to check their work,
read feedback, and make edits
8. Control
Involving the students into the classroom decision-making. When
students play a part in control, they become responsible and
independent.
Allow students to control group titles. Teacher should provide
students with responsibilities for each role so they then can make
the proper decisions.

Students use social interaction to communicate their ideas and
thoughts.
This can be done in teamwork or groups.
Students can determine individual responsibilities to work towards
end goal.
Teacher can recommend all students create a g-mail account,
allowing them access to google docs.

If students perceive the value of knowledge, their level of
interest increases.
In powerpoints for example, students should be informed that
