PROBLEMS
KnowledgeIdentify the following steering mechanisms
Comprehension
Explain different types of steering mechanisms. Also describe the use of these steering mechanisms in Formula 1 race cars.
Application
Arm Length
Circumference Reduction Factor Steering Ratio
Idler & Pitman 5” 31.4159” .9090
Mazda Steering 5½” 34.5575” .9090
Mongrel Steering 6½” 40.8407” .7692
Find the steering ratio using the following data.
Analysis
Analyze the bell crank mechanism of the go-kart car using ADAMS.
Synthesis
Design a small rack and pinion steering mechanism of small Formula style race car.
Evaluation
Compare all types of steering mechanismsand suggest the best steering mechanism for the Formula 1 car.
