The Industrial Revolution in America {1870-1917} was a time of great changes. People started to moving from rural areas to urban areas. Many people did this to look for jobs in factories and to have more opportunities for a better life.

During the period of the Industrial Revolution there were major accomplishments and opportunities in making inventions that changed the nation. The inventions in the late 1800s changed America like the telegraph,talking machine,and Ford introduced assembly line and mass production. These inventions helped America with communication and transportation . { Sec 3, ch 20 handout } “In 1860 cyrus Field laid an underground telegraph cable across the Atlantic ocean’.This made Europe .”In 1876 Bell tested his talking machine a telephone”. By 1885 Bell sold more than 30,000 phones mostly to business.“This invention was a big deal now because this made people possible to talk with each other. “Henry ford intro the assembly line in his automobile factory”.”The assembly line allowed mass production of cars”.These two thing made people buy cars in cheap prices now everyone can afford a car. These inventions helped america become the nation it is now 20 years later.

The Industrial Revolution was the time of great success and opportunities in big business. The growth of businesses had grown from the past years. The steel industry had grown after the civil war and steel had gotten cheaper. The “cause of the growth was the railroad industry was that the railroad industry helped the growth of other business to grow”{Sec2,Ch 20 handout}. After the railroad industry many businesses started to share business with other companies. The railroad industry had an great effect on all businesses this told america that we can make bussiness like the railroad.

The Industrial Revolution was a time for people that lived in the rural neighbor to changed their lives from a country to a city to get better opportunities. Now people that were working in farms or agricultural societies can change their lives by going to work in factories, and business. This now can help the women in the house because now their kids,and their husbands were working in factories instead of farms because a farm gives less money. Now they can save money to get stuff and it may be helped the household.

The Industrial Revolution in America did change a lot of things. Many people started moving from rural and urban societies. Many people during this time did look for jobs and had more opportunities.
