Introduction:

• PowerPoint presentation has penetrated in every aspect of social activities

ranging from business to academic.

• It improves : the effectiveness of content presentation

easy and well-exposed to audiences

reduce time and cost of preparation

• However, it cause some drawbacks:

Over-reliance and Over-simplification

dilute critical thinking skill

Increase inappropriate classroom behaviors

Main research question: What are the impacts of PowerPoint assisted-teaching on student's learning?

Sub-research Questions: To what extent, does slide hold student’s attention?

To what extent, does slide improve classroom attitude during lecture?

To what extent, is slide beneficial for student’s learning?

To what extent, is slide critical for understanding?

To what extent, does slide help learner recall for exam?

Methodology: • Qualitative research aims at finding

the perception of student toward PowerPoint-assisted teaching

whether there is any difference between the perceptions of students from each shift.

• Survey is used to collect data from 120 students in Department of International Studies (DIS), selecting from simple random sampling

• Total in shift: Morning: 40 Afternoon: 40 Evening: 40

In overall, it appears that PowerPoint-assisted teaching had a positive

effect on students learning, in which:

• It holds students attention

• It provides a large benefit on learning

• It is critical for students’ understanding

• It really helps student to recall the lesson easily.
