How to
for the
CPA ExamWhen You're Already
Working Full-Time
Study
Working a 40 hour+ week can be tough especially with everything else you have going on in your life.
But adding studying for the CPA exam seems like elective torture!
Houdini himself couldn't fit the 300 - 400 hours into your schedule that it'll take to pass all four sections, could he?
It can be done. When there's a will there's a way. Here are some suggestions on how to do it.
Figure Out Your "Runway"
How much time do you have before the test? You have to know how much time you can devote to study so you set up a realistic study schedule around your job.
And, of course, you'll want to schedule the test well in advance to give you most time possible.
Time Management
Determine how much time you'll need for each part of your studies (MCQs, TBS, etc.)
Time Management
Once you do this you can then distribute those hours out across your runway in a schedule that will be both realistic and effective.
Find the Right Review Course
You don't want to go it alone with the CPA exam, especially when you have a full-time job to contend with.
A review course gives your preparation structure and guidance from people who are specialists when it comes to the exam.

They aren't all the same. The reviews will help you decide which is best for you by comparing their different features and prices.
For instance, some offer mobile apps so you can fit in some studying wherever you are.
Prioritize
Preparing for the exam is going to change your life. Period. You're going to have to sacrifice your normal social life and seclude yourself to study.
Keep your eyes on the prize. Think of the elation you'll feel when you ace the test. At the same time, think how hollow you'll feel if you flunk and have to go through all the work and solitude again.
Stop Before You Drop
At the same time you don't want to push yourself too hard. Pulling days-long study benders fueled by
Red Bull and Doritos won't help. You won't retain
nearly as much information not to mention how your
body will react.
It will be a long and tough road but it will all be
worth it when you see that passing score on
your screen and realize that you can now put the letters C, P, and A after
your name.
