Comparing The Remake Of The Trailer To The Original
We made a remake trailer for the movie Unfriended. We
tried to base it on the original trailer and used it to
influence how our trailer was made. We were unable to
completely remake the trailer however were successful in
recreating some of the scenes. In the original social media
and the was used often with the film, for example facebook
was used and a news website. We managed to recreate this
to a small degree by making a scene in the trailer appear
against the background of a news website.
Moreover both the original and the remake have use
of handheld shots. We were able to recreate scenes
from the original through using these shots.
The original looks more professional and it is clear
that money was spent to make it. The remake trailer
differs to this due to the limit we had of equipment
and the editing software. Also we only had a week to
produce the remake. The limitations we faced help to
explain why the trailers look so different.
Though the remake of the trailer was incomplete I
think we were able to capture a small part of the
trailer successfully. The ideas and what was
happening in the scenes were similar. An example
being when a female character is passed out and
other characters are mocking her.
Due to how the trailer was incomplete we were unable
to make the trailer have the codes and conventions of
horror films which the original has.
