PERUTUSAN HARI GURU TH 2015

YAB PM DATUK SERI NAJIB RAZAK

YAB TPM TAN SRI MUHYIDEN YASIN

PPPM (2013-2025)

If we educate a boy, we educate an individual. If we educate a girl, we educate the whole family but if we educate a teacher, we actually educate the whole community.

“… as the most significant and costly resources in schools, teachers are central to school improvement effort. Improving the efficiency and equity of schooling depends, in large measure, on ensuring that competent people want to work as teachers, that their teaching is of high quality, and that all students have access to high quality teaching ” OECD, 2005

“The quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teacher”(Barber & Mourshed, 2007)

“If a teacher graduates today and teaches for 30 years, and their students live for 70 years, teacher education programs are actually preparing teachers for 22nd century learners” (Crag Kissock, Education Week, March 2014)

PENTINGNYA PERANAN GURU

“What is a teacher? I'll tell you: it isn't someone who teaches something, but someone who inspires the student to give of her best in order to discover what she already knows.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Witch of Portobello

STATUS OF TEACHERS IN ISLAM

Islam has paid considerable attention to teachers for their being the first brick in the structure of social development and perfection and the cause of guiding and developing behaviors and mentalities of individuals and communities. The Prophet cared for teachers and showed their elevated standings. Once, he passed by two circles of people; the first was supplicating to God while the other listening to a teacher. He commented, “The first is begging God who may or may not give them. The second was learning. I have been sent as teacher.” Hence, he joined the second. This is the best example of the Prophet’s encouraging education and teaching.By: Muhammad Baqir Qarashi

THE POSITIVE TEACHER PLEDGE I pledge to be a positive teacher and positive influence on

my fellow educators, students and school. I promise to be positively contagious and share more smile,

laughter, encouragement and joy with those around me. I wow to stay positive in the face of negatively. When I am surrounded by pessimism, I will choose

optimism. When I feel fear, I will choose faith. When I want to hate, I will choose love. When I want to be bitter, I will choose to get better. When I experience a challenge, I will look for opportunity to

learn and grow and help others grow. When I faced with adversity, I will find strength. When I experience setback, I will be resilient. When I meet failure, I will fail forward and create a future

success. With vision, hope and faith, I will never give up and will

always find ways to make a different. I believe my best days are ahead of me, not behind me. I believe I’m here for a reason and my purpose is greater

than my challenge. I believe that being positive not only makes me better, it

make my students better. So today and every day I will be positive and strive to make

a positive impact on my students, school and the world.(Jon Gordon, STAR 16 Mei 2015)
