In our initial discussion as a group, these were our initial ideas. However, after looking at our initial research to find a compromise. This led us to sway more towards the indie/rock genre as that is something that we all enjoy and have more experience with listening to. After researching dance music videos, those tend to be more high budget and commercialised, something that would be harder to recreate. We all liked the idea of combining narratives into a music video which is also more conventional of an indie music video. We want to create a video that has elements of narrative rather than a cheesy, commercialised music video. In relation to our digi-pack, we all decided that we liked the retro, grainy style images. We also decided that dance music would be a hard genre to pick as club footage is a clear convention. This would be hard to film as we would need everyone in the club to sign release forms and the lighting cannot be completely controlled by us. Despite choosing the indie genre, we would like to choose a song with a clear beat so we can edit and cut with the rhythm.
