Technology used

• Wearable computing

• Ambient Intelligence

• Eye Tap technology

• 4G Technology

• Android Technology

• Augmented Reality

Wearable Computing

Worn by the bearer under, with or on top of clothing.

Developed for general or special purpose information technologies

and media development.

Ambient Intelligence

Electronic environments that are sensitive and

responsive to the presence of people.

Devices work in concert to support people in

carrying out their everyday life activities.

Eye Tap Technology

o Device that is worn in front of the eye that acts as a eye to

record the scene available to the eye.

o Intakes the world around it and augments the image the

user sees allowing it to overlay computer-generated data

over top of the normal world the user would perceive.

4G Technology

A successor of the third generation (3G) standards.

Provides mobile ultra broadband Internet access

with data rates of 300Mbps in mobility to 1Gbps

while stationary.

The data speed can make the device run about its

purpose

Android Android being a Linux-based operating for mobile devices such

as smart phones, developed by Google in conjunction with the Open

handset Alliance.

Android has a large community of developers writing applications ,

written primarily in a customized version of the Java programming

language.

Augmented Reality

• It is a live, direct or indirect, view of a physical, real-

world environment.

• Real-world elements are augmented by generated sensory

input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data.

Features of Google glass Accept/Reject a call.

Display the weather.

Reading/Sending emails.

Take a picture or video And share it.

Travel Alerts ,Easy Sharing, Show reminders.

Read/Send text messages.

GPS tracking and Navigation

Google Translate.

Google Search & Finding Information.

How it Works ?

The device will probably communicate with mobile phones through Wi-Fi or

Bluetooth .

The video camera senses the environment and recognizes the objects and

people around.

A visual layer is placed over reality via a prism, the layer is projected directly

onto the retina of our eye.

Since focusing on objects at very close range is difficult for the eye, Google

beams images directly onto the retina at the back of your eye.

The home screen of google glass is a simple overlay box that carries any

information and the ‘wallpaper’ .

Google Glass doesn’t come with speakers. Instead, it comes with

‘bone-conducting’ headphones.

The whole working of the Google glasses depends upon the user voice

commands itself.

ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES

ADVANTAGES

Easy to wear and use.

Acts as a hands-free computer, so we

won’t need to break your country law

while driving.

can text and see the map while we

are on our way.

A new trend for fashion lovers

together being an innovative

technology.

Useful technology for disabled /

handicapped people.

DISADVANTAGES

Can be easily broken or damaged.

Privacy of people may breach with

new glasses.

Will there be a battery or it will run

using solar energy?

users eyes will focus on that data and

will eventually miss the surroundings

that may lead to accidents while

driving.

Future scope

Google Glass is limited in scope right now, but the future, Google

believes, is bright and the device itself is “incredibly compelling”.

Google is trying their hardest to get the approval by the FCC this

year but there are already several hundred glasses made for testing

internally.

Conclusion

Google says that Glass will make you feel smarter. “We’re talking

about a device that sees every thing you see and hears everything

you hear,” .

In the next few months, Google will start shipping its smart

spectacles to developers. More-polished consumer models are

expected in 2014.
