Goals 1. Becoming an actionaid campaigner-

Introducing volunteering. 2. Promote cooperation in class for

different purposes – worksheets /activities/ discussion.

3. Encourage weak students’ interest and willingness to participate and help with the action.

4. Cross curricular activities working in two languages. 5. Break the monotony of everyday lessons and avoid boredom.6. Arouse a spirit of kindness and promote understanding among students around the world.

School Newspaper article – GLOBAL CAMPAIGN FOR EDUCATION  21-28 /4/2013     Φέτος το σχολείο μας συμμετέχει στην παγκόσμια εβδομάδα

δράσης για την Εκπαίδευση τηςActionaid. Θέμα της «Όλα τα παιδιά του κόσμου χρειάζονται δασκάλους». Ένα θέμα οικουμενικό και επίκαιρο που αγγίζει τις ψυχές των ανθρώπων σε όλες τις γωνιές της γης.

Τελευταίες έρευνες αποκαλύπτουν ένα απογοητευτικό έλλειμμα 1,7 εκατομμυρίων δασκάλων σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, γεγονός που σημαίνει ότι πάρα πολλά παιδιά δεν έχουν πρόσβαση στη βασική  εκπαίδευση .   Ελπίζουμε η φωνή μας να ακουστεί δυνατά παγκοσμίως για να υπενθυμίσουμε στις κυβερνήσεις που υπέγραψαν .το 2000 τη διακήρυξη της χιλιετίας (millenni0um declaration ) και τη συνθήκη εκπαίδευση για όλους (education for all ) της UNESCO τις υποχρεώσεις τους ως το 2015 .

School’s Web Page article Όλα τα παιδιά του κόσμου χρειάζονται δασκάλους

Δυο παράγοντες αποτελούν απαραίτητη προϋπόθεση της εκπαιδευτικής διαδικασίας : από την μια οι μαθητές , οι δάσκαλοι από την άλλη . Αν απουσιάζουν οι μαθητές , δεν σχηματίζονται τάξεις , δεν υπάρχουν σχολεία . Αν απουσιάζουν οι δάσκαλοι –και μάλιστα οι σωστά καταρτισμένοι–  δεν επιτυγχάνεται η μόρφωση . Ας ασκήσουμε λοιπόν όση πίεση μπορούμε στους ηγέτες του κόσμου ώστε ως το 2015 όλα τα παιδιά της γης να έχουν πρόσβαση στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση και να διδάσκονται από δασκάλους ικανοποιητικά εκπαιδευμένους , για να λαμβάνουν ποιοτική μόρφωση .

Problems we faced

1. The Action Aid material never actually arrived.We finally downloaded it from the net 2.We spent some money on colourful copies for our classes. 3. The school paid for our colourful poster’s creation which was expensive-but at least it decorates our school corridor..

Conclusion

It was interesting creative fun unexpectedly motivatingIt promoted teachers’ cooperation and

teacher-students cooperationEven the weakest students showed

some serious interest !!

Thanks to our participation we hope lack of teachers will stop being the serious problem it is today for children in the developing countries.
