Editing.Straight cuts are featured throughout the trailer to show how the

film evolves throughout the trailer. Straight cuts are often used in all trailers to move the picture on faster, Sometimes the simpler editing techniques are the most effective.

Slow motion is used when the boy and dolphin are underneath the water to show the steady relationship that the boy and the dolphin have. The slow motion shows that they both for that one second can just have fun and relax. This adds some emotion to the scene where the audience will see the relationship forming between the two characters.

The text overlay shows which actors feature in the movie which would draw more attention to the trailer as fans of the actors will want to watch another film from that particular actor.

Camera. The wide shot image at the beginning of the trailer

shows the location of the paradise beach. You immediately think of what animals are on the paradise looking island. Then two seconds later a dolphin is alongside the boat, Jumping. You will be drawn to this trailer as you will want to watch the film to pretend you are on that island soaking up the sun.

Their also is a high angle shot of the Dolphin in the sea, this may have been done to show how vulnerable the Dolphin is and also how alone he is. They both want a friend and it so happens they find each other.

Sound & Mise en Scene. The Non Diegetic sound of the soundtrack is a

fun happy song which is common in family film trailers as they connote how the film itself is. The soundtrack then changes quite dramatically to connote the danger of the hunters shooting the dolphin.

The location of the movie is set on an island, which links with the main character of the dolphin as we usually think of dolphins on island surrounded with water and this is what we can see here.
