We put on our scariest costumes!! Our class was full
of vampires, skeletons, and
witches!!

We went to the gymnasium to celebrate. We recited a Halloween poem first in English, and then
in Spanish. We listened to wonderful songs and skits performed by the different classes.
Happy Halloween!!
CHRISTMASDecember 09
The performances were based on holiday
movies. Each class sang a song in front of the entire school in the Colmenar Viejo
auditorium. We chose Sesame Street!

We performed in front our friends and family in our
Sesame Street costumes. We
were adorable Big Birds, Kermit the Frogs, and Count
Draculas!!
PEACE DAYJanuary 09
To celebrate, we learned a poem about friendship. We wore white shirts and did the traditional dance on
the patio. We had fun singing, dancing and celebrating our friends!
CARNAVALFebruary 09
The theme was “Adventures in a Book.” Our grade was given The
Pied Piper, or “El flautista de Hamelín”. We dressed up as mice while the teachers put
on their best ¨pied piper¨ costumes--flutes
included.

We ran around the patio as little mice offering cheese to the crowd. The flutists entered, put a
spell on us with their song, and led us off the stage. We watched great performances!
DEL RIO AL MAR PROJECT: SHARING A SHELLApril 09
As part of “del rio al mar” project, we read Sharing a
Shell and did many activities with the book. It is a book
about sea creatures becoming friends and
learning the importance of sharing. We coloured the characters for the display
board in the building.

We cut out speech bubbles, glued them
into our notebooks, and drew the characters. Our English teacher laminated the crabs,
anemones, fish, bristleworms, and
seagulls that we had colored, so that we
could attach a stick and make puppets.

We used our puppets to act out the scenes
of the book! We had so much
fun!
MOTHER´S DAYMay 09
To show our mothers how much we love them, we made special gifts in class. We glued pretty
paper to the bottom of glass plates.

Then, we decorated a nice flower card, and wrapped them
up! We love our mums!

We participated in the Annual Olympic games! We competed against other
Primary Schools from Colmenar Viejo.

We played games on the
field and brought Juliet for Good Luck!

We also ran races on the track. It was a perfect
day to be outside,
exercising, and having fun!
