Start by looking for the electronic version
of the journal.
Our e-journals are all listed in the
e-Journal Portal …
Open the Libraries web site: http://www.lib.uct.ac.za
Hover your mouse over Journals in the
top menu bar
Click on Electronic Journals
This will open up the e-Journal Portal …
journal chemical physics
Type in some keywords from the journal title
And click on Go
Your results screen shows all the journals that have your keywords in the title …
Journal of chemical physics is available in several
resources:
• Journal of chemical physics• Open chemical physics journal
Click on the journal’s
title
AIP Scitation Journals
EBSCOhost
AIP Journals
PubMed Central
SwetsWise
This opens a page of links to the these resources
Click Go for the resource
you want
Your journal opens …
Navigate to the volume and page of your article

But, what if the Libraries don’t subscribe to the electronic version of the journal?
If you look for the journal …
Systematics and biodiversity
the e-Journal Portal will show this:
So you can’t access this journal on the web … BUT we may have a subscription
to the print version
ALEPH (the Libraries’ online catalogue)
will tell you if we get the print version …
Go to the Libraries home page and click on ALEPH
When the catalogue opens up ...
Click on Browse
In the Browse screen ...
Select Journal
Title
Open the dropdown menu that lets you
choose the index you want to browse in.
Type in the journal title
Systematics and biodiversity
And click GO
Click on journal
title
This opens the catalogue record for the journal ... The
Shelf Mark tells you where to look on the
shelves
The Holdings field tells you
which volumes we have
We have from
volume 1, issue 1
onwards
And remember, if you can’t find what you
are looking for …
