Studiocanal was established in 1987 by Pierre Lescure. Originally to focus on specifically French and European production but later landed as tactical deal with American production companies. Studiocanal is well known for its production of Terminator 2: Judgement Day which made a gross profit of £415 million and JFK which a smaller profit of £164 million. When these films were produced the company was known as ‘Le Studio Canal+’.

Studiocanal is very well linked with Universal Studios as they were owned by the same company between 2000-2004, hence why Studiocanal has co-produced many films for Universal.

FINAL DECISION I have decided to use ‘Axiom Films’ as my distributing company, due to the fact it isn’t as well known as Vertigo and Studiocanal and this goes well with my independent production company image ‘Three Strikes’. If I was to use a well known and established distributing company it would create the wrong image for my film, which is meant to be portrayed as indie, small and independent.
