Why You Need To Be Able To Employ Exam Strategies


Exams are an essential part of any course of study

For this reason, you need to know how to take exams

.


There are different strategies you can use in exams


You can answer questions as they are in the exam (1 through to question 50)


You can also prioritize questions by how hard they are and choose to answer the easy ones first or vice

versa

.


Alternatively you can answer by topic, an example of this is to do all the capital budgeting questions

together

.


Answering questions by difficulty helps prevent you from spending too much time on one question and

getting stressed out by the exam

.


Doing the easy questions first, helps you in time management. If you have a 3 hour exam with 60

questions you have 3 minutes a question

.


Doing the easy ones first will take less time so you save time to help you with the more difficult ones later and end up with 5 minutes per question later

on


It also helps build your confidence for the more difficult ones later rather than getting your confidence shaken by tackling the difficult

questions

.


The more confident you are the better you are likely to answer your exam questions. Staying relaxed is

the most important thing you can do in an exam

.


You can also answer questions by topic which is helpful because you stay in one subject area rather

than chopping and changing all the time

.


Multitasking was often touted as a great skill but it has been found that focusing on an area has

greater benefits than changing between different tasks

.


Use this an focus on one area at a time to get the most out of yourself in an exam

.


Try out different strategies and find out what works best for you. Everyone is different and different

things work for different people

.
